ML657 Continuous motion single turret capper

The Marchesini ML657 is an automatic Rotary Motion Capper with one turret equipped with 4 closing heads.

Main Features

  • Clear Separation between the bottle transport and mechanical area. The base framework contains enclosed the mechanical movements and transmission organs.
  • Infeed and discharge conveyor. Conveyor driven by proper motor, inverter and speed adjustment.
  • Inlet and discharge star wheels guide the bottle into the closing turret.
  • In the machine design the safety norms have been followed and the machine is delivered with the CE mark.
  • Machine movements driven by three-phase motors, inverter and speed variation.
  • Quick size changeover with a minimum of parts to be replaced or repositioned.
  • Infeed screw to provide separation and guide into the intake star wheel of the rotary closing turret.

Rotary Closing Turret (with commands for all required movements of the closing heads)

The closing turret is available with various types of closing heads for: Press-on plugs, droppers, reducer plugs and screw caps.

During the closing operation, the bottle transport and settings under the turret, is dedicated to the specific type of closure.

Turret height adjustment complete with linear Encoder, to perform automatic size positioning (option).

After closing the bottle proceeds to the discharge star wheel and is passed to the discharge conveyor.

Operation

  • Bottles arriving from turntable or external conveyor are passed onto the tabletop conveyor and brought to the screw, working in synchronization with the inlet star wheel of the closing turret.
  • The inlet star passes the bottle in position under the rotary closing turret.
  • The turret performs the bottle closing with movements dedicated to the type of closure.
  • After the closing phase the bottles are picked by the discharge star wheel, which places them onto the discharge conveyor to the downstream machine.

Installed Safeties

  • Safety Guard in Methacrylate mounted on aluminium frame with electric interlocks. Safety micro switches triggering machine stop in emergency mode and release of air pressure in case a door is opened.
  • Minimum load control of incoming bottles with machine stop and automatic restart at restored load. Infeed screw safety.
  • Cap presence control.
  • Maximum load control on discharge to stop the machine in case of full conveyor or irregular bottle flow. Automatic restart after restored free bottle flow.
  • Machine stop after three consecutive errors.

Maximum mechanical speed

  • up to 150 bottles/minute
  • The output always depends on container type (and eventually type of closure), automatic feeders as well as used accessories.

  • (A) = Ø of round bottle: from 18 to 55mm (0,708” - 2.16”)
  • (B) = Width x Width, square bottle: from 20 to 55mm (0,787” - 2,16”)
  • (C) = Long side, rectangular bottle: from 20 to 55mm (0,787” - 2,16”)
  • (D) = Short side, rectangular bottle: from 20 to 55mm (0,787” - 2,16”)
  • (G) = Bottle height, without closure: from 35 to 200mm (1,37”- 7,87”)

Closure Size Range

  • (H) = Closure height: from 10 to 35mm (0,39” – 1,37”)
  • (L) = external Ø of closure: from 7 to 35mm (0,27” - 1,37”)

Technical Documentation

  • Original standard Instructions Manual (one hardcopy + Pendrive) and CE Certificate are supplied with the machine. A “Food Compliance Statement” is furthermore in accordance with the Regulation (EC) N.1935/2004 and subsequent amendments, for materials, treatments and processing of the machine parts intended to come into contact with the product.
